The resort town of Sinaia, situated just 120 kilometers from Bucharest on the lower slopes of the Bucegi Mountains, has been famous since the late 19th century.
The resort stands out from all others due to the architecture of its elegant villas, built in the 19th-century style, when the resort earned the nickname "Pearl of the Carpathians."
Here, you can visit the famous Peleș Castle, built at the order of King Carol I of Romania, in German Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance style. Inside, you will discover Germanic, Colonial, Turkish, Venetian, and Moorish decor elements.
You can also visit Pelișor Castle, the second largest in Sinaia and part of the same estate, as well as Foișor Castle, the smallest in the entire complex.
Pelișor Castle was built between 1899 and 1902 and is part of the vast architectural ensemble created by King Carol I in the valley of the Peles Stream.
The resort is abundant with such cultural attractions.
From Peleș, you can descend to the old Royal Train Station, and then reach the memorial house of the famous composer George Enescu, where you will see what inspired his world-renowned works.
